 FAQ
A: FAQ is an acronym for "frequently asked questions." | Q: Matignon has an official Web Site. Why do one for the Class of 65? A: Why not? Actually, the official website is a good one, and is getting better. However, with the interests of almost 60 years of graduates to cover, and quite a different mission to suppoert, a supplemental area for a specific graduating class does not seem a bad idea. What is of interest to the Class of 1965 may not be equally of interest to other classes. Further, some of the things that can be done for a single graduating class would be much too labor intensive to do across the board for every class. | Q: You mentioned announcements in your Mission Statement. What kind of announcements or news can I place here? A: Anything that would interest at least one other of us. Births, special anniversaries or gatherings, retirements, relocations, grandchildren, awards. That's a good start. No Amway, no politics. Sad to say, with things as they are today, no religion either. If a picture would help convey the spirit or clarify an item, we will post it where spce allows. | Q: How do I send in pictures? A: Do what so many do. Have a computer-savvy teenager in your houshold help you. The same one who resets your clocks and VCR's after a power outage from the flashing "12:00". Send in the photos as an attachment to your email (see the "Contact Us" page). Send them in the same resolution as you took them for best results. Don't worry if they are a little too dark or too bright - we can fix 'em up a bit from here. Pictures will be credited and copyrighted to the contibutor. | Q: What is NOT included on this website? A: Anything being done by the official Matignon High School Web Site. | Q: How do I use this site to contact fellow classmates? A: To leave a general message, sign in the Guestbook. Even though it asks for your email address, you do not have to privide one - your message will still post. If you are concerned about leaving an email, then log onto http://www.hotmail.com or http://www.yahoo.com or http://www.excite.com and set up a disposable email account. Should a probelem arise, you can just drop the account and set up a new one in three minutes. In my experience, Yahoo mail has really good spam filters, if that is an issue. Because some people's jobs raise privacy issues, anything sent to the webmaster directly on the contact us form should have the email address included BUT it will not be divulged. To share memories or start a discussion (e.g. does anyone remember...?) you can use the forum. BTW, the forum is moderated, so depending on how frequently we monitor the site, it make take a day or so for your post to actually show up. |
